One of the ways that we celebrated Earth day was by making paper mache globes. It was quite an adventure for little hands! First, we blew up our balloons and covered them with strips of news paper. Then we covered the news paper with blue and green tissue paper. We talked about how the blue showed the water and the green showed the grass (a simplified concept for three year olds!). After they had dried, we popped the balloons!
To make our paper mache mix we used 3/4 of a cup of white flour and 1/2 a cup of warm water. They turned out great!
